You May Call It Redneck, We Call It Fun

Author: teresacaldwell  //  Category: family

Okay, here in this small, some might say “hick town” in Texas, there isn’t much to do. We live about 2 miles from this small town, in the country. My kids have always enjoyed being able to have the freedom to have room to roam, to play in the fields. As my kids got bigger so have their toys. These are videos my son posted to YouTube. You can also take a look at his myspace to see more. This is actually just right in front of our house.

People from the cities may call this redneck, we call if fun. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. Funny thing is I have always been against my kids doing things dangerous, and I consider this to be a little on the dangerous side. My son asked me to ride with him in the S10 Blazer in the Videos, I did, I screamed, I held on, closed my eyes, cussed, and then all at once, something very strange happened. At the very same time I said “Can I Drive?” as he asked “Do You Want To Drive?”

It was Awesome!!!!

Do I Bug You? Well I Love You !!

Do I Bug You??

I know I have a sense of humor and opinions that my family, sometimes don’t understand, my husband often rolls his eyes at me.

My Son had some of his friends over to my house, I guess I acted or said something different than what other’s moms may act.   He said “Mom you are weird”.  Oh Well, I am who I am, the kids haven’t quit coming around.  I really hate it when someone tells me how to act.

I love the Internet !!http://deanhunt.com on July 4th, wrote a post “I love the internet”. I say that exact thing ALL the time.  I love to search for information on the Internet. Any time my family has a question or a disagreement on something, I just say “I’ll go Google it”. For some reason that would Bug them.  I have gotten to the point where I won’t tell them I am going to go search the internet for the answer and I come back with the correct info.

Well I Love You !!I have always worried about Bugging people. Once a guy in high school told me to get lost, I was bothering him. I am now married to him…he says he doesn’t remember telling me that. He thought he was a ladies man, I guess talking to one girl too long might spoil his image.

We have been married for 25 years, and he is a good husband. The first few years weren’t the best, but we have matured and learned, sometimes you have to compromise, choose your battles, and let things go.

Life is full of bumps in the road, sometimes, great big chug holes, but you don’t stop driving, just keep going, repair what damage (if it is repairable) the bad roads may have caused. Sometimes you have to learn how to trust again after the trust is lost. For us it has been worth it.

Some advise from someone who has lived and learned: Every day tell that special someone in your life how beautiful they are, and how much you love them, even if it starts to seem a little routine. Thank them for all the things they do for you, no matter how small. I don’t go a day without telling my kids, my husband, and my parents that “I love them,”

I Really Get Sick of Stupid Politicians

Author: teresacaldwell  //  Category: My Opinion

Duh !

Duh !

I really get sick of stupid politicians.

Texas Representative, Warren Chisum, wants to make it harder to get a divorce. You can read the proposed bill at http://www.legis.state.tx.us/tlodocs/80R/billtext/pdf/HB02684I.pdf

I feel that this would just make the desperate more desperate; there would be more murders, abuse, and missing people. If I was with someone I couldn’t live with, and there was no way out, I am afraid I would have to take desperate measures.

I think it all comes down to the “Right Wing” Republicans platform of “Family Values”. Talk about hiding behind something, “Family Values?” How many of these politicians have affairs, sexually abuse the young pages, are actually gay, yet don’t stand up for gay rights.

President Bush vetoed stem cell research, saying “I don’t believe in sacrificing a life, to save a life”. What about this Iraq war?

The current administration cut funding to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood provides so much good info, STD testing, and birth control to the people who can’t afford these services otherwise.  They also provide these services to young kids, who probably are afraid to talk to their parents about these subjects.

Ignoring these things won’t make them go away. We will just have more uneducated people, with more kids, who more than likely will follow in their parents footsteps and we will have more poverty, welfare, and domestic violence.

When the desperate get more desperate they take desperate measures. I can’t imagine a young girl thinking she might be pregnant; probably being scared to tell a parent, not having a place to go that could help her in confidence.

What about the churches; that protest in front of these clinics; which make threats; and actual bomb these places. I thought religion was supposed to teach love, forgiveness, understanding, etc., not violence.

Strong Women !!

teresa_caldwell_763_fullno-hair-bc.jpgRosie the Riveter, a fictional character supporting the world war II effort, helped to recruit more than two million women into the workforce with these ads. These ads led to a tremendous change in the relationship between women and the workplace. As a result, employment outside of the home became socially acceptable and even desirable. Over time, Rosie has become an Icon that symbolized the strength of women, and their determination and ability to do any job.

This has become my Motto !! I feel like I, or any other woman, can do anything we set our minds to do.

I just want to encourage women (and men) to stay strong in their passions, listen to their own inner voice, turn off the negative comments by those who don’t believe, become the person you want to be, don’t be afraid of change, be brave and patient. So go out there and take the first step to becoming who you want to be !!!!
