Start Talking To Strangers, Good Advice for Affiliate Summit Attendees

July 24, 2008 - 11:43 pm No Comments

:-)

I am in charge of the Mentor Program for Affiliate Summit, and I have given so much thought about advice I could give to new attendees, not that I am an authority, by all means. I came across an article in a magazine I subscribe to - Women for Hire. Tory Johnson Founder and Ceo of Women for Hire wrote an article about attending industry functions. It was a very good article that made me really think about networking and the whole idea of “You Just Never Know”.

The article is found in Women for Hire Volume XI, entitled “Start Talking to Strangers”.

This article made a lot of sense and it is good advice even for people who have been to industry events several times. Sometimes we get with a group of people, usually those we know and are glad to see, that we forget there are so many people who might make a difference in our life, if we just take the time to talk to them and introduce ourselves.

Maybe we should set our goals at meeting an “X” amount of people. You just never know who you might meet and how they will affect your business or life.
